Dear RCA-SK members,

First of all, I'd like to confront you all at this moment of confinement in our respective home due to this COVID-19 pandemic. Let's stay home and respect authorities's instructions. However, we can't stop to remember for the 26th time our beloved ones who were killed in the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, which opted to do by means of technology through Cisco Webex/Video conference on Sunday, 12th/04/2020 here in South Korea.

Upholding remembrance ceremony is a duty for us Rwandans but also for friends of Rwanda as well as for the international community.

Therefore, we started a week of commemorating the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi at our homes, remembering more than one million victims of the Genocide Against the Tutsi.

This year's theme is "Remember and renew" which means that through we remember we shouldn't somber in sorrow. Therefore, all of us must work hand in hand towards a collective prosperity.

I'd like to thank the soldiers of RPF-INKOTANYI who fought, stopped the Genocide and liberated us.

I'd like to thank the Government of the the Republic of Rwanda for their tireless efforts in supporting Genocide survivors by providing them shelters, health insurance and scholarships to those who want to pursue their studies. I thank also the government of Rwanda for establishing the Gacaca judicial system which enabled to judge Genocide suspects as well as the international community for their cooperation in tracking, arresting and prosecuting suspects.

I'd like also to thank the genocide survivors for their resilience, which would give us a basis to legally fight against the genocide denial and trivialization.

Dear RCA-SK, this is the right time to show our everlasting solidarity by talking to each other through cellphone and other social media in these moments where the efforts to remember must be combined with efforts to fight against COVID-19.

I wish you well and peace of heart

Remember and renew.
